UPM Energy's subsidiary UPM PV is planning a solar power project in Haukkasuo and Kiikunsuo with co-located battery. The Haukkasuo and Kiikunsuo areas are located east of Kouvola in Utti. The land areas owned by UPM-Kymmene have been previously leased for peat production. According to preliminary plans, it would be possible to build solar power with a total capacity of approximately 500–700 MW in the area.
