UPM Energy's subsidiary UPM Wind West is developing a wind farm in the Juoleikonkangas area of ​​Ähtäri, with co-located battery. The project's planning area is located in the northern part of Ähtäri municipality, northeast of the village of Patamanperä, bordering the Soini municipal border. 7–9 wind turbines with a total production capacity of approximately 65–90 MW are planned to be positioned in the forest area that is mainly owned by UPM.
